Gender and Genre in Frankenstein Films examines the nature of the genre, with an initial emphasis on horror in Frankenstein films. The course also examines hybrid genres, such as horror comedies and science fiction horror, and ends with a look at gothic motifs that are visible in depictions of serial killers, vampires and Nazis. Some inclusion of science fantasy, and global film, will also be attempted.
